Biography
Ben Veenbrink is one of Europe’s leading stadium experts, with nearly two decades of experience. Through his consultancy company The Stadium Consultancy, he and his team have been involved as specialist stadium consultants in nearly 60 stadium projects worldwide, ranging from small 5,000 seat capacity stadiums to large multifunctional venues of 60,000 seats and more.
Ben is also the Managing Director of Euroborg NV, the owner of the 22,500-seat capacity Noordlease Stadium and home of Dutch premier league club FC Groningen. In addition to the stadium the building features a vocational school, commercial offices, a multiplex cinema, a casino, restaurant and underground parking.
Since 2006, Ben has been a member of UEFA’s Expert Panel on Stadium Construction and Management. In his UEFA role, he has -amongst others- been involved in the monitoring of the delivery of the 8 stadia for UEFA EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine by carrying out stadium inspections, monitoring the progress and identifying risks related to the delivery of these stadia. He was one of the key contributors to UEFA’s Stadium and Security Expert Tool (SSET) and constantly involved in updating stadium requirements and regulations on behalf of UEFA, including most recently the Access for All good practice guide.
