Michael Morozuk: My Internship at Arowana Sports

My internship at Arowana Sports, a sports marketing agency in Madrid, provided me with valuable hands-on experience in the field of sponsorships and activations. 

During my time at the agency, I had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects related to sponsorship and activations between football clubs and brands. One of my main responsibilities was researching and identifying potential sponsors for the agency’s clients. This involved analyzing the sponsorship strategies of other sports teams and organizations, as well as identifying companies that align with the values and goals of our clients.

During my internship, I had the opportunity to take part in the company’s shift in business strategy towards investing in tools and resources for the future. This was particularly evident in the sponsorship activation for the Real Madrid / KOK signing ceremony, where I was able to participate in the execution on the day of the event. This state-of-the-art signing ceremony was a resounding success and provided me with an invaluable glimpse into the importance of partnerships between football clubs and brands to drive business growth. Additionally, being part of such a high-profile event was incredibly exciting and provided an opportunity to learn about event management and the role of sponsorships in sports marketing.

The exposure to various projects allowed me to develop a wide range of skills such as research, communication, coordination, and analysis. It also gave me an invaluable insight into the inner working of a sports marketing agency and the challenges they face in the sports industry.

Lastly and more importantly, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Alfonso Roberes de Cominges (Owner & FBA Professor) and his outstanding team, comprising of Juan Eseverri, Luigi Varriale (FBA 9th Edition Alumnus), Lucas Campoy, and João Pedro Dobes, for imparting their invaluable knowledge and expertise on the industry to me and fulfilling a lifelong dream to live in Madrid. I had the privilege of working with this exceptional team, and I have no doubt that they will continue to experience great success in their future endeavors in connecting top brands with top football clubs. Their time and effort were greatly appreciated.
