Biography
Alberto Colombo is the Deputy General Secretary of the European Leagues, the organization that gathers more than 35 professional football leagues representing more than 950 clubs in 30 countries, across Europe.
Alberto joined the European Leagues in 2008 and previously had professional experiences for major sports events such as the Olympics, Winter International Federations’ World Cup events and the America’s Cup of Sail. He is a sports industry senior director with experience in football governance, stakeholders relations, media & communication, event management, sports integrity and IPR. Alberto also works on public affairs and EU sports policy issues having served on several occasions as member of the European Commission’s Expert Groups on Sports Policy.
Alberto is a guest lecturer in several sport management postgraduate/academic courses across Europe. His deep experience and understanding of professional football’s stakeholder relations both at national and international level make of him a key expert and influencer on football governance matters.
