Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Former French football star Louis Saha needs little to no introduction for real football fans. The retired international striker once made headlines at several Premier League clubs including Manchester United, where he won 2 Premier League titles, 1 Champions League and 1 League Cup. Despite suffering from several injuries throughout his career, he still managed to earn great respect from the likes of Alex Ferguson and Wayne Rooney, who said he was one of the best centre-forwards they’ve worked with.
While still playing, Louis wrote a book called Thinking Inside The Box, packed with insights, anecdotes and personal reflections on the highs and lows of life as a Premier League striker, which planted a seed for his post-career interests. With his football boots hung up now, Louis has put his knowledge and experience of the football industry to good use. Instead of going into coaching, as so many retired football players do, he decided to embark on the entrepreneurial road through the creation of his own start-up – Axis Stars – an app designed to help athletes enjoy more transparency and protection in their uncertain daily lives and ultimately provide a brighter and more secure future for them.
Louis will share with The FBA students his journey from player to entrepreneur and give them a unique look at the many challenges, setbacks, opportunities, and triumphs entrepreneurship can present one with.
